Robert Kimelheim, MD, FACP

Robert Kimelheim, MD, FACP, is a rheumatologist at Hill Country Dermatology, with offices in New Braunfels and Schertz, Texas.

Dr. Kimelheim studied at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, earning his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science. Then, he enrolled at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and obtained his medical degree. 

After graduation, Dr. Kimelheim joined the United States Navy and completed an internal medicine residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth - Tricare (formerly Naval Hospital Portsmouth) in Virginia. 

Dr. Kimelheim served as a medical officer on the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) during his residency. He earned chief resident status during enrollment and worked at a fleet hospital during Operation Desert Storm.

After leaving the Navy, Dr. Kimelheim returned to Philadelphia and completed a rheumatology fellowship at Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine. He then joined the team at Arthritis & Rheumatic Disease Consultants (ARDC), serving there for nearly 20 years.

In 2017, Dr. Kimelheim moved to Texas, accepting the position of Rheumatology Division Head at Baylor Scott & White in Temple.

At Hill Country Dermatology, Dr. Kimelheim uses his extensive knowledge of rheumatology to diagnose and treat various skin problems. Though many assume these specialties have little in common, there’s quite a bit of overlap. In fact, many rheumatologic illnesses directly affect the skin, and Dr. Kimelheim is well-equipped to manage them.

Dr. Kimelheim is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He’s passionate about his profession and regularly engages in continuing education and training.

Outside of work, Dr. Kimelheim enjoys spending time with his family. He’s the proud father of adult triplets and very active in their lives. He welcomes anyone in need of high-quality care to Hill Country Dermatology.
